Project Manager/Engineer Chemical PlantLocation: Williamsville, NY USA
Salary: $60 - $65 USD per hour
Our client is dedicated to the operation and maintenance of chemical processing plants. They are currently looking for a Project Manager/Engineer with strong experience in chemical plant operations, process engineering, and instrumentation & controls (I&C).
Responsibilities:
• Develop process design solutions for refinery and chemical plant systems.
• Perform and review engineering calculations (e.g., hydraulic analysis, control valve sizing) at all project phases, including feasibility, conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction, and start-up.
• Develop and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Utilize HYSYS for process simulations to evaluate and validate designs.
• Participate in commissioning activities and ensure a smooth transition to operations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and industry regulations.
• Contribute to the improvement of work processes and procedures.
• Support operational safety through PHA, What-if analyses, DOW indices, IEC calculations, and RBI data assessments.
• Analyze and optimize mass balances to improve process models.
• Evaluate and improve the performance of process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, furnaces, etc.).
• Conduct field operation surveys and provide technical support to plant operations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a chemical plant environment (not consulting).
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, process engineering, and I&C systems.
• Experience with process simulations (HYSYS) and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with refinery systems, pressure vessels, and safety valve documentation.
• Hands-on experience in plant operations, commissioning, and process optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting.
